What is VASER 360 liposuction?

VASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. It is a form of ultrasound-assisted liposuction. Ultrasound energy is used to assist with disrupting fat before it is removed through liposuction cannulas.

“360” describes a circumferential approach to selected torso areas. Depending on the assessment, this may involve the abdomen, waist, flanks and areas of the back. It does not mean every part of the body is treated.

VASER 360 is a surgical procedure performed under general anaesthesia. It is not a non-surgical body treatment, a method of treating obesity or a substitute for weight loss.

Which areas may be treated?

VASER 360 Liposuction may involve selected areas such as:

  • Upper abdomen
  • Lower abdomen
  • Flanks or “love handles”
  • Lower back
  • Upper back or bra-line area, where appropriate

Treating only one small area can sometimes leave the surrounding contour unbalanced. For example, lower-abdominal liposuction without addressing suitable upper-abdominal fullness may not produce a smooth transition.

What can VASER 360 Liposuction address?

People commonly request an assessment for:

  • Localised abdominal fat
  • Fullness around the waist and flanks
  • Lower-back or bra-line fat
  • Limited waist definition
  • Uneven contour around the torso
  • Stubborn fat deposits that remain despite stable weight and lifestyle efforts

Liposuction does not remove significant excess skin, repair separated abdominal muscles or guarantee cellulite improvement. Skin can only retract to the degree allowed by its existing elasticity and healing response.

What procedures can be combined with VASER 360 Liposuction?

Fat Grafting

Suitable fat removed during liposuction may be processed and transferred to areas such as the hip dips or buttocks to create a smoother, more balanced contour.

RF Skin Tightening

Radiofrequency skin tightening is often combined with liposuction to optimise results and support skin retraction, particularly where mild skin laxity is present.

Hi-Def Contouring

For selected individuals, the surgeon may recommend more detailed sculpting around the natural abdominal muscles. Hi-Def VASER is different from standard VASER 360 and is not suitable for everyone.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

For individuals with excess skin or abdominal separation (diastasis recti), a tummy tuck may be combined with VASER 360 liposuction for further contouring.

Who is suitable for VASER 360 Lipo?

You may be suitable if you:

  • Are in generally good health and have maintained a stable weight
  • Have stubborn areas of fat that have not responded to diet and exercise
  • Have sufficient skin elasticity to allow the skin to adapt after fat removal
  • Want to improve the shape and contour of your waist, abdomen, flanks and back
  • Have realistic expectations about swelling, contour changes and your individual skin response

How much does VASER 360 liposuction cost in Vietnam?

VASER 360 liposuction coordinated through COS MEDCONNECT starts from $8,000 AUD.

The final quote may be affected by:

  • The number and location of areas treated
  • The amount and distribution of fat
  • Surgical complexity and expected theatre time
  • Previous liposuction or other abdominal surgery
  • Whether Hi-Def contouring is being considered
  • Whether fat transfer or skin-tightening technology is added

How Long Should I Stay in Vietnam

For VASER 360 liposuction, COS MEDCONNECT generally recommends approximately 10-12 days in Vietnam.

A longer stay may be required when liposuction is combined with a tummy tuck or another procedure.

The planned stay generally allows time for:

  • Arrival before surgery
  • Pre-operative testing and an in-person consultation
  • Surgery and the required hospital admission
  • Hospital-based reviews and incision checks
  • Recovery before the surgeon assesses fitness to travel

Recovery after VASER 360 liposuction

Early recovery commonly involves swelling, bruising, tenderness, fluid leakage from small incisions, lumpy unevenness,  temporary numbness and a feeling of tightness.

Swelling can move or appear uneven as the body heals, and the final contour is not visible immediately. Compression garments, binders and foam boards are commonly worn for 6 weeks during recovery.

As a general guide:

  • First 1–2 weeks: Rest and light walking are encouraged, but mobility may be limited and assistance with daily activities may be needed.
  • Around 2–4 weeks: Mobility usually improves, but lifting and strenuous activity remain restricted. Light daily activity can gradually increase as tolerated.
  • Around 4–6 weeks: Many people gradually return to normal daily activities. Exercise can be progressively reintroduced once cleared by the treating surgeon.
  • 6 weeks and beyond: A gradual return to structured and higher-impact exercise may be possible once medically cleared.
