What is a Breast Augmentation?
What can breast augmentation address?
- Naturally small breast volume
- Loss of volume after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight change
- Differences in breast size or shape
- A desire for more upper-breast fullness
- Changes in proportion between the breasts and body
- Replacement of previous implants

What Types of Breast Implants Are Available in Vietnam?
Breast implants are available in different surfaces, sizes and projection profiles. Your surgeon will recommend an option based on your anatomy and desired result.

Smooth Breast Implants
Smooth breast implants allow natural movement within the breast pocket and can provide a soft, natural feel. The final appearance depends on the implant’s gel, size, projection profile and surgical placement.

Nano-Textured Breast Implants
Nano-textured breast implants have an ultra-fine surface. Motiva Ergonomix is designed to move with the body for a softer, more natural-looking result, while Motiva Round provides greater projection and upper-breast fullness.

Micro-Textured Breast Implants
Micro-textured breast implants encourage tissue adherence, helping limit movement within the breast pocket and create a more stable, defined breast shape. The final look and feel depend on the implant model, gel, placement and existing breast tissue.
*Textured implants have been associated with a higher risk of breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) than smooth implants. Your surgeon will discuss the relevant benefits and risks during your consultation.
Breast augmentation or breast lift?
Breast augmentation adds volume but does not reliably correct significant breast or nipple descent. A breast lift reshapes and repositions the breast by removing excess skin. Some people may be assessed for augmentation alone, lift alone or a lift with implants.
Using a very large implant is not necessarily an appropriate substitute for a lift. When augmentation and lift are combined, implant size and tissue tension require careful consideration. In some cases, the surgeon may recommend staged surgery rather than one operation.

Breast Augmentation Cost in Vietnam
Breast augmentation in Vietnam starts from $5,000 AUD. The final cost depends on implant type, placement technique, and the complexity of your case.
The final fee may be affected by:
- Implant brand and model
- Differences in implant size between the breasts
- Surgical complexity and theatre time
- Previous breast surgery or implants
- Whether a breast lift, fat grafting or another procedure is recommended
How long should I stay in Vietnam
For a Breast Augmentation, COS MEDCONNECT generally recommends a minimum stay of 9 days. Your surgeon may recommend a longer stay depending on the procedures performed.
Your itinerary generally allows time for:
- Arrival before surgery
- In-person surgical consultation and Pre-operative testing
- Surgery and the required hospital admission
- Post-operative reviews
- Recovery before the surgeon assesses your fitness to travel
Clearance to fly is based on your individual recovery and cannot be guaranteed in advance.

Recovery after a BReast augmentation
As a general guide:
- First 1–2 weeks: Rest and light walking are encouraged, but mobility may be limited and assistance with daily activities may be needed. Compression garments are generally worn as instructed.
- Around 2–4 weeks: Mobility usually improves, but lifting and strenuous activity remain restricted. Light daily activity can gradually increase as tolerated.
- Around 4–6 weeks: Many people gradually return to normal daily activities. Exercise can be progressively reintroduced once cleared by the treating surgeon.
- 6 weeks and beyond: A gradual return to structured and higher-impact exercise may be possible once medically cleared.

Capsular contracture occurs when scar tissue around an implant tightens, causing firmness or shape changes. Your surgeon will discuss your individual risk during consultation.
English
