Breast augmentation with lift Vietnam – surgical procedure overview

What Is a Breast Lift with Implants?

Breast augmentation increases breast volume using implants. A breast lift, or mastopexy, reshapes the breast by removing excess skin, tightening the surrounding tissue and repositioning the nipple and areola when required. Combining the procedures addresses volume and position during the same operation.

The surgeon selects the implant, implant pocket and lift pattern according to the individual’s anatomy, skin quality, existing breast tissue, degree of sagging and preferred size.

Why a Consider Breast Lift implants?

  • Loss of breast volume after pregnancy, breastfeeding, ageing or weight change
  • Breasts that sit lower on the chest than desired
  • Nipples that sit low or point downward
  • Loose or stretched breast skin
  • Reduced fullness in the upper part of the breast
  • Differences in breast size, shape or nipple position
  • Enlarged or stretched areolas when areola adjustment forms part of the lift

Do I Need Implants, a Lift or Both?

Procedure Main purpose May suit someone who
Breast augmentation Adds volume with implants Wants more fullness and has little or no significant sagging
Breast lift without implants Raises and reshapes existing tissue Has adequate volume but wants improved position or removal of loose skin
Breast lift with implants Adds volume and addresses sagging Wants additional fullness and also needs the breast tissue or nipple repositioned

Breast Implant Options

Implant choice forms one part of the surgical plan. Options commonly available through the coordinated hospital pathways include Motiva, Mentor and Nagor implants.

Availability can change, and the surgeon confirms the recommended brand, size, profile and surface after assessment.

  •  Implant size is selected in relation to chest width, breast tissue, skin quality and the lift being performed.
  • Implant profile affects projection and width but does not produce the same appearance on every body.
  •  Implants may be positioned above, below or partly below the chest muscle depending on anatomy and the surgeon’s plan.
  • A larger implant is not automatically suitable simply because a lift is also being performed.

What Types of Breast Lift Techniques May Be Used?

The surgeon selects the lift technique and resulting scar pattern according to nipple position, skin quality,

incision 3

Anchor or Inverted-T Lift

The incision extends around the areola, vertically to the breast crease and along part of the crease. It may be required when more skin must be removed or more extensive reshaping is needed.

incision 2

Vertical or Lollipop Lift

The incision extends around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease. This pattern allows more reshaping and skin removal than a periareolar lift.

incision 1

Periareolar Lift

The incision is placed around the edge of the areola. It may be considered when limited lifting or areola adjustment is required. It is not suitable for every degree of sagging.

Who Is Suitable for Breast Lift with Implants?

You may be suitable if you:

  • Want to increase breast size or restore lost breast volume while also addressing sagging
  • Have drooping breasts, stretched skin or nipples that sit lower on the breast
  • Have experienced loss of breast volume or changes in breast shape after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight loss
  • Are in suitable general health for surgery and general anaesthesia
  • Have maintained a reasonably stable weight
  • Have stopped breastfeeding for at least 9 months before surgery

Can a Large Implant Be Combined with a Breast Lift?

Not always. A breast lift tightens and reshapes the breast envelope, while a larger implant places additional volume and weight within that envelope. Combining a substantial lift with a large implant may create excessive tension on healing tissues and incisions.

If the requested implant is too large for a one-stage procedure, the surgeon may recommend a smaller implant or staged surgery. A staged plan usually means performing the lift and augmentation at different times. This is an individual safety and tissue-quality decision, not simply a preference about implant size.

How Much Does a Breast Lift with Implants Cost in Vietnam?

A breast lift with implants in Vietnam starts from $9,500 AUD.

Factors that may affect the quote include:

  • The degree of breast sagging and lift technique required
  • The implant brand, size and profile
  • Differences between the breasts that require additional correction
  • Areola or nipple adjustment
  • The complexity of the lift

How long should I stay in Vietnam

You should plan to stay in Vietnam for a minimum of 12 days for a breast lift with implants. This allows time for the in-person consultation, pre-operative testing, surgery, early recovery and scheduled hospital reviews before travel clearance is considered.

A longer stay may be required for a more extensive lift, combined procedures, delayed healing or other medical considerations.

Breast Lift with Implants Recovery

Most coordinated pathways include an overnight hospital stay for monitoring. Swelling, bruising, tightness, tenderness and temporary differences between the breasts are common during early healing. The implants and breast tissues take time to settle, so the early appearance is not the final result.

  • Desk-based work may be possible after approximately 10-14 days, depending on recovery and job demands.
  • A surgical support garment is usually worn for approximately six weeks
  • Avoid heavy lifting, strenuous exercise and upper-body training until cleared, commonly for approximately 6 weeks.
  • Sleep position, showering, driving and arm-movement instructions must follow the hospital’s individual guidance.

Quick answers to questions you may have

Are implants placed over or under the muscle?

Possible risks include bleeding, infection, anaesthesia complications, blood clots, fluid accumulation, delayed wound healing, wound separation, poor or raised scarring, asymmetry, contour irregularity, persistent pain, changes in nipple or breast sensation, difficulty breastfeeding, fat necrosis, partial or total loss of the nipple or areola and revision surgery. Implant-related risks include capsular contracture, rupture, rippling, visibility, malposition, implant infection and possible implant removal. Rare cancers have been reported in the capsule around breast implants, including BIA-ALCL, which is associated more often with textured implants. The treating surgeon must explain the risks relevant to the client and the specific implant before consent.

Implants may improve the appearance of mild looseness in selected cases, but they do not reliably correct significant sagging or a low nipple position. Using an oversized implant to avoid a required lift can place additional strain on the tissues.

Scars may be limited to the areola or may include a vertical line and a line within the breast crease. The required pattern depends on the amount of loose skin and lifting needed. Scars are permanent and their final appearance varies.

You can discuss your preferred size and appearance, but the surgeon determines which sizes are compatible with your chest width, tissue, skin quality and lift. Inspiration photographs can communicate preferences but cannot guarantee the same result.

Implants may be placed above, below or partly below the chest muscle. The surgeon selects the pocket according to anatomy, tissue coverage, implant choice and the overall lift plan.

Not always. A large implant adds weight and tension to tissues that are being tightened during a lift. The surgeon may recommend a smaller implant or two separate operations when a one-stage procedure would create excessive tension or healing risk.

Yes. Staged surgery may be recommended for some clients, particularly when extensive lifting or a large increase in volume is requested. The order and timing are determined by the treating surgeon.

Areola reduction may be incorporated when appropriate because lift incisions often include the areola. It is not automatically required and must be listed in the surgical plan and quote.

A surgical support garment is usually required for approximately six weeks or as directed by the treating surgeon. The correct fit and wearing schedule are confirmed after surgery.

Scar therapy tape and balm are included where directed. Treatment should start only after the surgeon confirms the incisions are sufficiently healed. No treatment can guarantee that scars will disappear.

Some people can breastfeed after breast surgery and others cannot. A lift can affect milk ducts, nerves and glandular tissue, and implants may also affect breastfeeding. Future breastfeeding ability cannot be guaranteed.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding may stretch the skin and change breast volume, position and shape. This can alter the surgical result and may lead to consideration of revision surgery later.

Breast implants are not lifetime devices. There is no fixed replacement date for every client, but implants require ongoing awareness and may eventually need imaging, removal, replacement or revision because of symptoms, rupture, capsular contracture or other changes.
